The Very Epitome of a Great Leader, Leni.

A woman, mother and a LEADER.

“So to all mothers and women in this room and across the nation, remember you are made for times like these. And you are meant to survive even the most difficult times. .” — Leni Robredo, November 2019

Leni Robredo is the Philippines' 14th and current vice president, and a Filipina lawyer, politician, and social activist. From 2013 until her election as vice president in 2016, she represented Camarines Sur's 3rd district.

Robredo is the Philippines' second vice president and the first vice president from the Bicol Region. The Thai government honored Robredo in 2016 for her efforts and advocacy in the fields of women's empowerment and gender equality. The OVP also earned ISO 9001: 2015 certification for the office's quality management system under her supervision.

During the Philippine general elections of 2013, Robredo ran in Camarines Sur's 3rd congressional district. She was declared the victor on May 16, 2013. Robredo served as vice chairperson of the House committees on good governance, public accountability, and revision of laws, as well as a member of 11 other house panels, during her time in Congress. She was recognized for being a firm advocate of the Bangsamoro Basic Law and a strong activist for the Freedom of Information Act.

People Empowerment Bill, which attempted to improve Filipino engagement in decision-making and policy-making, and Participatory Budget Process Bill, which sought to increase local participation in budget-related choices in government projects, were also authored by Robredo. In addition, she issued the Comprehensive Anti-Discrimination Bill, which prohibits discrimination based on ethnicity, race, religion or belief, sex and gender identity and manifestations, language, handicap and HIV status among other factors.

Robredo has been in charge of programming for the Vice President's Office (OVP). In its first year of operation, her anti-poverty program, Angat Buhay, assisted 83,707 households across the country. The Senate boosted the Office of the Vice President's (OVP) 2018 budget by $20 million, which was given for the vice president's Angat Buhay program, in October 2017.

Meanwhile, Robredo urged other Filipinos to commemorate the 165 military and police officers who sacrificed their lives for Marawi City's liberation.Robredo stated that her office was already working to assist Marawi City in its reconstruction, notably through its flagship anti-poverty program. Robredo advocated for unity during the Marawi siege, when government soldiers were engaged in a firefight with the Maute group, and she gathered contributions and oversaw relief efforts for the victims. She then paid a visit to Iligan's injured troops to offer solidarity and donations.

Robredo has consistently stated her dissatisfaction with the government's drug campaign, notably Oplan Tokhang's policies. She presented proposals to strengthen the government's drug campaign during her short time as co-chair of the government's ICAD. During her presidential campaign, she pledged to maintain heightened efforts against drugs, but would focus on rehabilitation and prevention.

Under Robredo, the OVP provided free shuttle services for pandemic frontline workers, swab tests, telehealth services, and raised funds for relief operations across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. The office also delivered 7,350 personal protective equipment (PPEs) to nine hospitals, including San Lazaro Hospital, Philippine General Hospital, and the Lung Center of the Philippines. These donations, which included food and care packages for the health workers and their families, raised a total of $17.3 million.
